Going Out In Thailand Chapter

If a competition was held to decide the country where you can have too much fun, Thailand would have to be a firm favourite for the top prize. Thailand is party country - it's the reason many expatriates cannot tear themselves away. The possibilities for entertainment in Thailand are almost endless. The food in Thailand is world class - apart from the wonderful Thai food on your doorstep and available pretty much twenty-four hours a day, Thailand now has fine restaurants serving delicious cuisine from all over the world. The pub and club scene is becoming ever more sophisticated - gone are the days when the only option for a night out on the town was the "western saloon" style pub. The Bed Supper Club, Q Bar and Tunnel in Bangkok are the last word in hip and trendy nightclubs, while traditional western-style pubs keep improving. International music and dance acts are increasingly paying Thailand a visit, and the country now hosts several music festivals that are becoming internationally recognised. Add to this a huge network of plush cinemas, a small but growing western theatre scene, and the highbrow delights of Thailand Cultural Center and the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and Thailand almost demands that you are never bored.
